eternamente-temporario
Eternamente Temporário

Eternamente Temporário is a team-based climbing (shedding) game by Brazilian designer Arthur Lacerda, set in a bittersweet science fiction world. You and your colleagues are "Humans" in a simulation run by extraterrestrials: yet another exhausting workday under suffocating conditions, with your negative emotions as your only weapon. The team that is first removed from the simulation "for good" wins. The losing, "efficient" team has to endure at least one more eternity of simulations.

You play in two teams, Customer Service versus the Collections Agency, with 4 to 6 players. Each turn you play a higher combination than the previous one of the same type: a single card, a set of up to five cards of the same rank, or a run of up to five consecutive cards in the same suit (Sadness, Fear or Anger). Six cards make a Bomb that beats everything. What makes it special is your team's shared Archive: a tableau of columns from which you may use any card that is not covered. When you pass, you may add a card from your hand onto the Archive to block the card beneath it, or move an available card onto your Badge for later. Stress Cards give each player their own twist on the flow of play, and since teams can change every round, you keep track of your points (VP, "Void Projection") individually.

The game contains 72 Feelings cards (1 to 12 in three suits, two copies of each), 8 Stress Cards, 8 player aid cards, 2 Archive Cards and 6 Badge Cards. Especially fun for fans of team climbing games in the vein of Tichu, with a hefty dose of dark humour.
