Who are we and why did we found Spelspecialist.nl?

We've been avid card and board game players for over 20 years. We've visited SPIEL in Essen several times and are also regulars at Spellenspektakel in Utrecht. Due to family expansions, we've had less time to play in recent years, but our interest in games has always remained. In recent months, we've been introduced to the wide range of beautiful card games from Japan, which are often difficult to find in the Netherlands. With Spelspecialist.nl, we want to combine our passion for discovering new games with making these unique "small box" games accessible to enthusiastic players in the Netherlands.

How quickly will my order be shipped?

Spelspecialist.nl is a small webshop that we run alongside our full-time jobs. Because of this, it can sometimes take up to two business days for an order to be shipped. As soon as your package ships, you'll receive a track & trace code to track your order.

What are the shipping costs?

We ship to many European countries. Depending on the destination, the following order values qualify for free shipping:

  • € 100: NL, BE, DE, LU
  • € 125: FR, IT, ES, AT, DK, SE, IE, FI, CZ, BG, EE, GR, HR
  • € 150: PT, HU, NO, PL, CH, CY, LV, LT, RO, SI, SK, MT

Can I return my order?

Yes, you can return your order within 30 days, provided the games are still in their original, unopened packaging. Return costs are the responsibility of the customer.

How are the games in the range selected?

We carefully select games by playing extensively, reading reviews, watching videos, listening to podcasts, and actively participating in online discussion groups. Our selection is regularly expanded, depending on supplier contacts and availability through crowdfunding platforms.

What payment methods are available?

You can pay with iDeal, Google Pay, Apple Pay, credit card and other common payment methods.

Can I request a specific game?

Yes, if you're looking for a specific game that's hard to find, please let us know. If there's sufficient demand, we'll try to add it to our selection.

How environmentally friendly is the packaging?

We value sustainability and therefore use as much recyclable packaging materials as possible to ship your order safely and in an environmentally friendly way.
