In Nanatoridori, you're a guide at a castle where a bird banquet has just taken place. Now you're helping the birds, the cards in your hand, return home.
The game uses a deck of 63 cards, consisting of nine of each number from 1 to 7. Players are dealt a hand of cards that they cannot rearrange.
The starting player plays a card or set of cards of the same rank, but you may only play multiple cards if they are adjacent to each other in your hand.
If there are already cards on the table, you must play a set that is either of higher value or consists of more cards.
Examples:
2 < 5
3.3 < 6.6
2,2,2 < 1,1,1,1
When you trump a set, you may either pick up the defeated cards and move them anywhere in your hand, or discard them to the discard pile.
If you can't or don't want to play, you must pass. You then draw a card from the draw pile and choose whether to add it to your hand or discard it.
If all but one player passes, the table is cleared and the last player starts over with a new set.
Once all but one player has emptied their hand, that last player loses one of their two lives.
If a player loses their second life, the game ends and all other players win.
