Welcome to the playground! In Tricky Kids, you and your classmates trade toys and snacks in a chaotic kid-economy where value is completely made up. It’s a trick-taking game with a twist: you write the numbers on your own cards. At the start of each round, you assign values that add up to 21 across your hand, then use those cards to try to win tricks and collect points.
Each round consists of 7 tricks, but the goal is to win strategically, not just often. Every trick earns a point token, and you always take the leftmost available token, so timing is everything! Tokens have different values depending on which suit won the trick, making both when and how you win crucial.
The game unfolds over 3 rounds, and after 21 total tricks, the player with the most points wins. But watch out: if your card values add up to more than 21 at the end of a round, you lose all the points you earned that round, and possibly some from earlier rounds as well!
With optional “Tricky Rule” cards that shake things up each round (such as passing your hand, playing dual-suit cards, or introducing unexpected win conditions), Tricky Kids keeps players guessing, and giggling, every time it hits the table.
