Nokosu Dice
Since starting this webshop, there has always been one game at the very top of my wishlist to add to the catalog: Nokosu Dice. And it has finally happened!
This brilliant game lets you play not only cards from your hand, but also dice. The twist comes at the end of each round, where you score bonus points if the die you have left matches the number of tricks you have won!
Compact gems from Brazil!
If you’ve been following Spelspecialist for a while, you’ll know I have a soft spot for clever, compact games from Japan. But did you know there’s also a hugely creative board game culture in Brazil?
Recently, I’ve imported several titles from Brazilian publishers that perfectly match what I love: small in size, big in gameplay, original in concept, and surprisingly deep.
What makes it even more interesting is that some of these games were originally designed elsewhere, but have received a new, compact or refreshed edition through a Brazilian publisher. As a result, versions pop up that are hardly available here in Europe, which makes discovering them all the more exciting.
Good to know: the box often contains only Portuguese rulebooks. In many cases, an English PDF is available online. The games I’ve selected are completely language-independent in terms of components, so once you know the rules, you can play without any language barrier at the table.
