Must-follow trick taking. The trump suit is determined each round by players choosing which suit they do not want as trump—this becomes their pain suit .
The game has 5 suits. Each suit consists of four 1s, three 2s, two 3s, and one 4. Players may play one or two cards of the same suit in a trick (4s must always be played solo).
The winner of the trick takes all the cards played and scores 1 point for each card — unless there are cards of their pain suit in the trick. In that case, they take only the cards of their pain suit and score 1 point.–1 point per card.
